Letter from Coach Don Michaelson
Hope this finds you well. I want to reach out to everyone and start briefing everyone on the upcoming season. Listed below are important dates everyone should be aware of and consider attending.
Coaching Staff:
The coaching staff will consist of myself, Sean Sullivan, and Randy Staus.
Captain's Practices:
Team leaders will be setting up "Captain's Practices" throughout the summer. These voluntary sessions will be run strictly by the players and will help aid players preparations for the upcoming season.
Summer Contact Days:
WIAA Contact days are scheduled for July 26th-30th. Training will be held in the Pirate Soccer Stadium from 6:00-8:00 PM. This will not be a mandatory event but I would highly recommend your attendance. These sessions will be conducted by Pirate coaching staff. These sessions will help acclimate players to the PHS coaching staff and training standards.
All Sports Meeting:
The "All Sports Meeting" will be conducted for the fall season sports. This meeting is set for August 2nd at 6:00 PM in the PHS auditorium. As in years past, specific-sport parent meetings following the general session.
Pre-Season Camp:
As in the past, we hope to be attending the Arrowhead pre-season camp. The camp is typically held the week before tryouts. However, I'm still waiting to receive confirmation from the Arrowhead HS coach on whether they'll be permitted to move forward with the camp. Otherwise, we will bring in an outside coach and conduct our own camp. The preseason camp will be scheduled for August 9th-13th. This also is not a mandatory event; however, this camp works well in preparing you for tryouts.
Tryouts:
Tryouts will be held August 16th-18th from 6:00-8:00 PM in the Pirate Soccer Stadium. Teams will be selected on the 18th after the third session. I hope to field a JV and a Varsity squad. I will send out a tryout schedule at a later date.
Scrimmages:
Both Varsity and JV will be participating in scrimmages on August 21st. As soon as I receive written confirmation, I will forward on to everyone. Teams and location TBA.
Schedule:
The varsity schedule is completed. I can share with you that our first varsity match is set for August 27th & 28th at Arrowhead High School. We will be participating in the Arrowhead Quad that weekend. (Pewaukee, Arrowhead, Sussex Hamilton, & Kimberly) Our first JV match and Woodland Conference opener will be on August 30th against Brown Deer HS at PHS. I will distribute the schedule at the All Sports Meeting.
Training:
Once the season is underway, training will be held at night for both the JV and Varsity squads. Training times during the week will be from 6-7:30 PM. Weekend times will vary. I intend to spread out the training schedule to achieve a better training to game ratio. After completion, I will send out a training schedule.

I threw out a lot of information, so if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Also, if any of you guys know of any incoming freshman or players that left off the email who intends on playing, please have them contact me so I can get their information.
